CRB Check

Criminal Records Bureau check cards for ECS scheme members

Safeguarding vulnerable people

Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are now often required for individuals in the electrotechnical industry when they work in schools, care homes, hospitals and other establishments which are responsible for vulnerable people.

CRB Checks for ECS scheme members

The ECS Scheme has contracted with Capita Recruitment Vetting Service to provide enhanced CRB checks on behalf of ECS. Capita Recruitment Vetting Service is one of the UK’s leading specialists in pre-employment screening and referencing.

The ECS CRB ID check card

Holders of ECS cards are now able to request a separate photo identity CRB check card, which will confirm their clearance by the CRB.

A CRB check card is valid for 3 years and costs £68.00 (including VAT). This covers the cost of the CRB check and administration fee, support throughout the process by Capita and a CRB photocard. ECS candidates can also obtain a CRB check without photocard for £55.40.

What's involved?

Candidates must complete a Disclosure Application Form (DAF), which will ask you to provide personal information and previous address details covering the past five years. Proof of current address and verification of your identity will also be required.
