| Card data: All cards display Card identity number name and photograph. The holder’s main occupation and up to five additional occupations in which the holder is certified are shown on the card front, together with appropriate JIB Grade (where applicable); The holder’s signature, together with the route by which certification has been achieved are printed on the back - additional vocational holders qualifications (such as 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations) may be printed where these are held. |
Who should apply:
Skilled workers capable of carrying out, in an autonomous and competent manner and within the allotted time:
- The installation of structured cabling, including all necessary cable tray, ladder rack, trunking conduit as well as any associated connection units; Installation of earthing and bonding cables
- Fitting out enclosures with structured cable termination equipment (connection units, hubs, switches, routers, patch panels etc); Installing panel trunking and other panel cable support systems
- Installing structured cabling including UTP, STP, FTP, Co-AX, general common cables, single-mode fibre and multi-mode fibre cables
- Installing earthing and bonding cables
- Capable of reading installation drawings including plans, cable routing, cable schedules, MTO, SLDs
Should also have good knowledge of various parts of a structured cabling installation including comms. Room, horizontal, backbone, work area, cross connecting, termination points, workstation etc.
