ECS Electrical Fitter
To be eligible for an Electrical Fitter’s ECS card, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- a) Have successfully completed an Approved Apprenticeship
– or – - b) City and Guilds 2360 Part One and Two or City and Guilds 2351 or City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3 or Approved Equivalent
– plus – - c) ECITB NVQ Level 3 in Installing and Commissioning Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Plant) or ECITB NVQ Level 3 in Maintaining Plant and Systems (Electrical)
If the operative holds either of the ECITB NVQ Level 3's, they can have the ACE (Assuring Competence in Engineering Construction) logo shown on their card
– and – - Hold a current (up-to-date) Health & Safety Certificate or recognised H&S qualification. For details visit the ECS H&S test information area.
– and – - Be trained to the current edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, BS7671: 2008 17th edition
- The opportunity to have a Grade printed on their ECS card is available to anyone who holds an appropriate NVQ Level 3 Award and the relevant practical experience – To find out more, visit the ‘Grading Information’ page of the JIB website
