Prove your competence with the ECS card

The CSCS-affiliated card for the electrical industry

Whether a technically qualified operative or manager or just starting out at trainee level, if you are involved in electrical work you need to be able to demonstrate your competence to the industry standards.

ECS is the occupational card scheme for UK electrotechnical workers. An ECS card demonstrates your competence and shows evidence of your training against the recognised standards for the electrical industry. There are currently over 100,000 registered ECS cards holders in the UK.

Holding an ECS card proves your identity, your qualification status and main electrical occupation, your awareness of UK health & safety, as well as any additional disciplines in which you are skilled to work.

ECS stands for Electrotechnical Certification Scheme – and the scheme is recognised by and affiliated to the CSCS for Construction workers as the equivalent competence card scheme for the specialist electrotechnical workforce in the UK.

Postage costs – don’t get caught out

We receive hundreds of notifications from the post office each year regarding ECS card applications that have been sent without sufficient postage. We’re unable to accept these and they have to be sent back to the applicant.

To make sure your application reaches us and can be processed as quickly as possible, you can check with the Post Office or online at www.royalmail.com/price-finder to find out the correct postage rate for your application.
