The Auto Electrician card is for those who carry out work to the electrical systems on automotive vehicles, to NVQ Level 3 standard. This work typically includes the maintenance, repair, adjustments and installation of electrical and electronic components independent of the motor vehicle, including related elementary mechanical adjustments.

Applicants should be skilled worker in the automotive industry who are capable of carrying out the work unsupervised and in a competent manner.

Eligibility and requirements

To be eligible for an ECS Auto Electrician card, you must meet the following criteria:

1) You must have successfully completed one of the following:

a) an Approved Apprenticeship as an Auto Electrician, or
b) a Level 3 NVQ in the Installation and Maintenance of Auto Electrical Systems

2) You must hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment. For details visit the H&S Assessment page.
