The ECS Related Discipline Qualifying Supervisor occupation is designed for people who are the Qualifying Supervisor for their company registration with a certification body.

The company qualifying supervisor has specific responsibility for the safety, technical standard and quality of electrical installation work completed under their supervision and have demonstrated that they have met the minimum technical competences for registration of their company with a certification scheme under the IET Electrotechnical Assessment Scheme Minimum Technical Competence requirements.

During the application the applicant must provide their registered company information which is automatically validated with their company certification scheme.

For cardholders that meet the scheme requirements for the occupations of an Installation Electrician, Maintenance Electrician or Manager the Qualifying Supervisor related discipline occupation can be added to their ECS card as an additional occupation.

The company information registered with the certification body and the date the qualifying supervisor status is confirmed is printed on the back of an ECS card.

This Company Qualifying Supervisor related discipline occupation is currently available for NICEIC registered companies.

Eligibility and requirements

To be eligible for an ECS Related Discipline Qualifying Supervisor card, applicants must:

1. Be the Qualifying Supervisor for their company registration scheme (currently NICEIC registration).

2. Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment. For details visit the ECS H&S Assessment page

Please Note: Where this Company Qualifying Supervisor related discipline occupation is requested for an additional occupation to an Installation Electrician, a Maintenance Electrician or Manager card the full ECS scheme requirements of the card held, or being applied for, must be met.
