The Telecommunications Field Operative or Rigger card is available for those who have qualified at a Level 2 as a Telecoms Field Operative or Wireless Communications Rigger through the relevant apprenticeship routes or equivalent vocational qualifications.

The broad purpose of the Field Operative role is to provide or repair telecoms services, electrical and electronic signal or aerial reception services, and supporting connection services for mobile and network solutions across commercial, industrial and residential locations.   

Eligibility and requirements

To be eligible for an ECS Telecommunications Rigger card, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. You must have successfully completed one of the following:

  • an Approved Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent as a Telecoms Field Operative or Wireless Communications Rigger
  • NVQ Level 2 in Telecommunications Installation and / or Maintenance
  • NVQ Level 2 in Communication Technologies, Signal Reception, Aerial, or Cellular Network Equipment
