Related Discipline ECS cards are for those who are not directly involved in electrical installation work, but their work is aligned or in support to the electrical industry, and an occupational discipline does not already exist.
Typically the ECS Related Discipline card is for people that are working in specialised electrotechnical disciplines which are not covered by other cards or a recognised NVQ or SVQ
Typically a related discipline ECS card would be used for an activity which required an awareness of electrical safety for user service, but did not involve any electrical installation work.
The ECS Related Discipline card is only issued if there is no other ECS card that covers the occupation applied for. The occupations covered by this card must have an electrical content.
The ECS Related Discipline card issued will be the most appropriate from the occupations available.
