To be eligible for the Mature Candidate Assessment, you'll typically need to have worked in the electrical industry for several years and have completed relevant electrical theory training.
This programme is not for new entrants or people who have just finished their training.
Before enrolling on this assessment programme, you must have successfully completed a Technical Certificate and can demonstrate your understanding of industry theory and UK Wiring Regulations. You must:
- provide written and verbal evidence, which can be independently verified, to an assessor at a professional interview.
- complete the industry independent assessment of occupational competence - the AM2 - provided by industry charity National Electrotechnical Training.
- provide current site-based evidence to demonstrate you can comply with the qualification requirements. This will be done via a site-visit where an assessor views you at work and is provided with verifiable witness testimonies.
