Industry Working Groups

The work of the ECS Steering Committee and Technical Evaluation Group can only be complete once the sub-sector has decided on the relevant standard for each occupation or role. Some examples of organisations involved in setting these requirements in specific sectors include, but not limited to:

Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS)

  • FESS Employer and Trailblazer Groups, including some of the largest UK employers such as Chubb, ADT, Johnson Controls, SECOM and others
  • Fire Industry Association (FIA), Fire and Security Association (FSA), British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Security Systems and Alarm Inspection Board (SSAIB), National Security Inspectorate (NSI), NET, NIFSEF and others

Network Infrastructure Installation

  • Network Cable, Telecoms and Digital Employer and Trailblazer Groups, including some of the largest UK employers
  • CNet Training, City & Guilds, EAL, Open Awards, Pearson and others

ECS works with dozens of trade associations, training providers, awarding organisations and employers across all sectors, such as building controls, digital and cyber, audio-visual, telecoms and engineering, to ensure the standards set are relevant to the industry.

If you represent a trade association, awarding or other organisation involved in raising standards and representing your sector, and would like to get involved in helping to shape the industry, please drop us an email here to arrange a discussion.
