The following technical certificates are recognised by the JIB as providing credit towards the theory requirement of JIB apprenticeship or trainee registration at stage 2.
Any of the following qualifications (under either the L2 or L3 headings) can be used as evidence that the technical requirement for an Electrical Labourer card has been met.
The following technical certificates are recognised by the JIB as providing credit towards the theory requirement of the electrotechnical apprenticeship, industry NVQ level 3 or other industry competency-based assessment that leads to meeting the requirements of an ECS card.
Full certification of these qualifications may be presented as part of an ECS card application when proof of a “JIB recognised level 3 electrical theory qualification” is required for ECS eligibility requirements (for example the Experienced Worker brown stripe card or registration on the JIB apprenticeship scheme at Stage 3).

Note: The Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 certificate does not, on its own, show the underpinning knowledge requirements the electrotechnical apprenticeship standard, industry NVQ level 3 or other industry competency based assessment that leads to meeting the requirements of an ECS card and therefore is not acceptable to meet the eligibility requirements of an ECS card.
