The ECS Site Support Occupation card is for people working for an electrical contractor in a role where they are supporting the administration of a contract and need access to a building or site under construction. 

You can apply for this card if your occupation involves supporting a contract such as: Design Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, Commissioning Engineer, IR Specialist, H&S Specialist, Site Contract Administrator, CAD Engineer, Compliance Auditor.

Please ensure you start a Managers application (and not a Craft application) in the ECS Employer Portal or in MyECS if you are applying for this card. 

Eligibility and requirements

Applicants will have to provide evidence of engagement within the electrotechnical sector and hold a Level 1 UK Health and Safety qualification or above, such as, but not limited to:

  • Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
  • CITB Health and Safety Awareness: Site Safety Plus (both classroom and remotely invigilated versions)
  • CCNSG Safety Passport - National Course or Renewal Course 
  • Safety Passport Alliance (SPA) Core H & S Course 


You will need to sit a separate ECS Health, Safety & Environmental Assessment if you do not hold a valid exemption undertaken in the last three years (please see link for list ox exemptions) 

You will also need to provide a Employer Reference for this card as part of evidence of working in a site support role.

Please Note: Following a recent decision of CSCS to withdraw recognition of certain IOSH courses while they collaborate to develop updated verification processes, ECS will also suspend acceptance of any IOSH course certificates after 31st August 2023.
