The ECS Card and the 18th Edition

The JIB and ECS recognise the following qualification for cardholders to show they are up to date on the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS7671: 2018):

Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018, which is offered by City and Guilds (2382-18), EAL (603/3298/0), Logic Certification (7671REI18) and BPEC (603/3430/7) .

Once you gain this qualification you can add it to your ECS record if you wish.

Existing Registered Electricians: you are able to update your MyECS record for free and receive an updated virtual ECS card showing the BS7671:2018 badge on the front of the card. If you wish to receive a new printed card you can do so at the discounted rate of £12.

Other gold cardholders: if you already have a BS7671 qualification recognised on the back of your ECS card, the new BS7671:2018 qualification can be added to your ECS record. Please start a Replacement application, or a Renewal application if your card has less than three months before its expiry date. Standard replacement or renewal application fees apply. Login to MyECS to start this process.

If you already have the 18th edition you might wish to become a Registered Electrician, if you meet the criteria.
