National T-Levels Week

17 October 22

The week of 10th-14th October marked National T Levels Week, celebrating and promoting T Levels, the vocational two-year courses taken after GCSEs. A T Level is broadly equivalent to three A Levels. Launched in September 2020, these courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and education providers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for entry into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or related technical study through further or higher education.

T Levels offer students practical and knowledge based learning at a school or college and on-the-job experience through an industry placement of at least 315 hours – approximately 45 days. The courses are available at selected colleges, schools, and other providers across England.

To support promotion and to help industry find out a bit more about T Levels, Department for Education created a range of content for employers to use, including newsletter copy and draft social posts, so that you can adapt them and share on your channels.

Here is a link to a new Industry Placement video which demonstrates the business benefits of hosting a T-Level industry placement and a separate link to shorter Industry Placement stories which have been used on DfE social media platforms as part of the recent T-Levels and GCSE results days.

Also remember, that for anyone on an industry placement such as a T Level or sandwich degree course, Industry Placement cards are available from ECS to recognise these necessary skills and ensure access to projects within construction and the built environment. ECS covers industry placements and T Level routes in a variety of disciplines including:
