New ECS HS&E Assessment 2021

The Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) assessment is being extended to 50 questions for all assessment taken from 5th April 2021.

Across construction and the built environment, individuals are required to demonstrate health, safety and environmental awareness and have this reassessed on a periodic basis. This is part of the CSCS Partner Scheme requirements for ECS.

The new assessment has a greater focus on fire safety and includes some general questions on structural fire stopping to help raise the awareness level of this important area for those working in the electrotechnical industry.

From 5th April 2021 the ECS Health Safety and Environmental Assessment will contain 50 multiple choice questions to be answered in 30 minutes, you will need 43 correct answers to pass the assessment. The questions are randomly selected from a database of approximately 300 that are in the revision guide. It is a 'closed book' assessment - so no revision materials are allowed when the assessment is taken. A FREE copy of the new revision guide is available here.

If you are taking your assessment before the 5th April then the assessment will still have 45 multiple choice questions to be answered in 30 minutes. You will need 38 out of 45 correct answers are to pass the assessment.

The revision guide on this website includes all the additional NEW questions but can be used for the assessment, even if your assessment is before the 5th April, you just will not be tested on the new questions if you are taking the assessment before the changes are made.
