ECS advises card holders on closure of “Conditional” and “Restricted” ECS card routes

Advice is being issued to ECS card holders by the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) that under the rules of the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) it will be withdrawing ECS cards issued under the “conditional” or “restricted” route, sometimes known as Industry Accreditation. ECS card holders who hold a conditional graded card should note that while they will be able to renew their card one more time, they may need to update the type of card held in the future when they come to renew their card.

New ECS card renewal requirements for Fire, Emergency and Security Systems occupations from July 2021

The Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) has issued a reminder to ECS card holders that from 1 July 2021 anybody renewing an ECS Fire Detection & Alarm Systems or an Emergency & Security Systems card for the industry will need to meet the new requirements for Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) ECS occupations.

Upskill your workforce with the JIB Skills Development Fund

The Joint Industry Board (JIB) is encouraging businesses in the electrical contracting sector to upskill their workforce and thus increase their customer base by taking advantage of the JIB’s Skills Development Fund. The Skills Development Fund provides financial assistance for courses for those undertaking further education and training in the electrical industry.
